ABOUT

About The Company

Alternative Realty Solutions, Inc. was incorporated in San Diego, California in 2001. One of the corporation’s first sales was a 16 million dollar corporate headquarters.

The idea for Alternative Realty Solutions, Inc. (ARS) was borrowed from a similarly-named corporation I ran in Colorado, which was the vehicle for the sale of more than 500 single-family homes and several net-leased industrial buildings in the 1990s. The clients and customers of the single-family homes we sold paid what are commonly known as discounted commissions.

ARS in California has a history that includes the sale of several commercial properties as well as many single-family homes in California. Among the commercial properties we sold were shopping centers, office and industrial buildings, and apartment buildings.

ARS offers flexible commissions that greatly benefit its residential clients. The rules for the ways real estate agents conduct the sale and/or purchase of residential properties in the U. S. changed in August of 2024. The new rules allow us to negotiate freely with other real estate companies through the local MLS. Our flexible fees enable our clients to keep more money in their pockets.

ABOUT

About Al Hackman

I began selling real estate in 1974 in Boulder, Colorado. Many of my customers were buying their first homes, starting their careers and often starting families. By 1976 I had taken a series of adult education classes in real estate at the University of Colorado. I graduated from the program that year and earned my Colorado Broker’s License in 1976 as well.

In 1985 I became the manager of the commercial division of Moore and Company in Boulder. I had a dozen agents working under my supervision, who handled commercial sales as well as retail and office leasing, and I began focusing in the sale of apartment buildings.

In 1986 I obtained my Certified Commercial and Industrial (CCIM) designation from the National Association of Realtors. This led me to a career in corporate real estate where I acted on behalf of the telecom company U S West. I followed my boss at U S West, to Beta West Properties, a national developer after two years in corporate real estate, and while at Beta West I worked on developing office and industrial properties nationally for telecom companies.

In 1998 I moved to San Diego, California, and was hired by Marcus & Millichap. I specialized in the sale of office and industrial properties.

I incorporated Alternative Realty Solutions, Inc. in 2001 and continued to focus on the sale of commercial properties until the recession of 2008.

I moved to the Palm Springs area in 2012 and focused on the sale of residential properties at Bennion Deville Homes. I sold residential properties as an Associate Broker at Bennion Deville until 2024.

During my time selling residential properties in California I obtained the Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR) designation from the National Association of Realtors.
